YTY is pleased to announce it has once again been recognized by the Malaysian Society for Occupational Safety and Health (MSOSH), the leading professional body within Malaysia in this space, for continued excellence in workplace safety.  YTY was formally recognized and awarded at the 42nd MSOSH Awards Ceremony, held on November 11, 2024, in Selangor, Malaysia.  At the ceremony, both of the company’s primary operating facilities, YTY Lekir and YTY Acheh, were awarded Gold Class 1 certifications.

YTY recently demonstrated its compassion and commitment towards improving the lives of those less fortunate by preparing and distributing a whopping 20,000 meals to families in need.  The event was conducted in collaboration with Rise Against Hunger’s Malaysian chapter.  Rise Against Hunger is an international relief organization that fights hunger around the world by coordinating the distribution of food and other life-saving aid, as well as assisting communities or segments of population that face high levels of food insecurity.

YTY is pleased to participate in the International Rubber Glove Conference & Exhibition (IRGCE) 2024. The exhibition, which is staged once every two years, is perennially hosted by the Malaysian Rubber Glove Manufacturer’s Association (MARGMA).  IRGCE is the industry’s leading trade show that brings together customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders involved in the rubber glove manufacturing ecosystem.

In conjunction with Malaysia’s National Day, YTY organized a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) event at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Batu 10 Lekir, focusing on an important topic, “Anti-Bullying and Crime Prevention for Children.”  The workshop was the main event during the school’s month-long National Day 2024 campaign which ends on Malaysia Day on September 16, 2024.

YTY Industry is pleased to announce it has been awarded a second consecutive Gold certification with no findings by Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP) for our Malaysian manufacturing operations. WRAP is an independent not-for-profit audit agency with a globally recognized accreditation standard that utilizes a rigorous and well-defined certification framework for social compliance monitoring and evaluation.

YTY is pleased to have organized a mangrove planting activity in Changkat Keruing, Perak, as part of our on-going corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts. The CSR activity involved the voluntary participation of 50 employees and their family members and, in addition to the planting itself, included an insightful environmental awareness talk aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of the importance of mangrove ecosystems.

YTY is pleased to sponsor the refurbishment and relocation of a library and resource center at Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT) Maha Ganesa Viddyasalai, a local primary school situated in the Manjung district, a short distance away from YTY’s Sitiawan manufacturing facilities.  The sponsorship reflects YTY’s ongoing commitment to education, community development, and empowering young learners.

As a sign of our continued commitment to individual well-being and community care, YTY is pleased to have concluded a month-long sponsorship of multiple dialysis treatments for 20 needy patients. This was done in partnership with the Manjung Dialysis Centre, a local non-profit organisation providing life-saving kidney care to individuals from around the community, including low-income patients.

YTY employees enthusiastically participated in a CSR activity focused on wildlife preservation at the Segari Turtle Sanctuary on May 27, 2023, in celebration of World Turtle Day 2023. The sanctuary is located next to Segari beach, one of only three landing sites for green sea turtles on the Western Coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

YTY is pleased to have taken the initiative to lead an extensive beach cleaning exercise at the Lekir Forest Reserve on Tanjung Kepah Beach, in collaboration with the District Forestry Department and the Manjung City Council. Participants of the activity collected over 186 kilograms of trash that would otherwise have ended up in the sea, where it could endanger marine life.

Given the unprecedented devastation that has occurred in Turkey as a result of two deadly earthquakes, YTY is responding with a donation of two million medical exam gloves.  This donation is being provided directly to the Turkish Embassy in Malaysia, who is coordinating disaster relief efforts within the country.

As the war in Ukraine continues to rage unabated, resulting in thousands of casualties and millions of people displaced, YTY has stepped up to donate one million premium quality medical-grade nitrile examination gloves to support emergency health services within the country.

In celebration of Malaysia Day 2022, YTY is pleased to have donated RM 15,000 and provided employee volunteers to support infrastructure improvements for two charity homes in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur and Sitiawan, Perak, that cater to vulnerable and at-risk populations.

YTY is pleased to provide direct assistance in a region deeply affected by the recent flooding, and to support The Salvation Army in their efforts to reach out and provide assistance to affected families in Central and Western Peninsular Malaysia due to impact of heavy torrential rain that occurred from December 2021 through February 2022.

YTY was alerted on January 29, 2022, via a press release issued by the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that a Withhold Release Order (WRO) had been issued against specific YTY Malaysian operating entities based on an assessment by the DHS’ Customs & Border Protection (CBP) division that “reasonably indicates” the use of forced labor in YTY’s manufacturing operations.

YTY is pleased to confirm that it has finished the 2020 calendar year with a best-in-class track record in respect of Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) compliance.  The Company has outperformed in specific metrics of review defined under the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA).  This includes both the Total Case Incident Rate (TCIR) measure of performance, and the Loss Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) measure of performance.

YTY is pleased to confirm it has initiated payments to blue collar employees from foreign countries (“EFC’s”) for fees charged to them by employment agents during their recruitment process.  In announcing the extension of our Employee Reimbursement Program in August 2020 to cover all EFC’s, we indicated that first payments for the initial cohort of employees would be made in October 2020. We are pleased to confirm we have executed against plan.

YTY is pleased to confirm that, as part of a recent unannounced audit by the National Security Council (NSC), also known as Majlis Keselamatan Negara Malaysia (MKN), the federal agency concluded its review by commending the Company for the exemplary standards it has set for COVID-19 preparedness within its factory premises, hostels, and employee canteens.

Given the rapid spread of COVID-19 in and around Southeast Asia, YTY has stepped-up its efforts by increasing its donation to 3 million medical gloves within the region.  In addition to donating 1 million medical gloves to Wuhan, China, in January 2020 as part of consortium of medical companies who banded together to assist the city as it battled COVID-19.

YTY is pleased to donate one million Nitrile single-use Examination gloves to healthcare workers in China to assist them to fight the Coronavirus (2019-nCoV), which has thus far infected over 10,000 people and taken the lives of 213. The giving was part of a larger pledge by leading manufacturers in Malaysia of single-use Examination gloves made from Natural Rubber and Nitrile.

Given the increasing public review and commentary on the topic of social compliance as it relates to manufacturers of single-use Examination and Surgical gloves, YTY Group, as a large and long-standing member of this industry, has felt it necessary to clarify our position on this important topic.
