YTY Subsidiary Awarded Twice for Environmental Achievement
- Wednesday, March 11, 2020
We are pleased to note that YTY’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Medisafe Technologies, has recently been recognized twice for its achievements in respect of environmental sustainability.
Medisafe was originally recognized in December 2019, when it was awarded the Green Industry, or “Industri Hijau,” status by the Indonesian Ministry of Industry (Kementerian Perindustrian). Medisafe was given a Level 5 certification, which is the highest possible recognition by the federal government. It is given to those companies who have achieved meaningful contributions towards energy conservation, recyclability and environmental sustainability. This is the second year in a row that Medisafe has received this prestigious national award from the Ministry of Industry.
Additionally, Medisafe this week garnered a second recognition by earning a Blue, or “Biru” award, conferred by the region of North Sumatera (Pemerintah Provinsi Sumatera Utara). This recognition was in respect of the assessments carried out by the Department of Environment, who focused on areas such as water usage, chemical discharge, emissions, and the prudent use of recycled materials in its operations. Deepak Bang, Chief Executive Officer of Medisafe Technologies, notes “We are pleased with both awards, as it reaffirms our sustained commitment to environmental responsibility and socially responsible manufacturing. We are the only provider of single-use hand-protection solutions within Indonesia to have been recognized in each of these awards.”
Vikram Hora, Chief Executive Officer of YTY, Medisafe’s parent company, goes on to state “We are very proud of the green achievements of the Medisafe team. These accolades reflect the strong Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) framework we have put in place at a Group level. Other recent achievements under the ESG framework include Medisafe’s WRAP certification (Gold Class award), Medisafe’s BSCI “A” rating, and YTY’s satisfactory completion of SMETA audits across all of our Malaysian facilities. YTY will continue to aim for best-in-class standards as it relates to responsible, ethical, and humane manufacturing.”
