YTY is Recognized Twice for ESG Excellence

YTY is pleased to announce it has recently been recognized twice for excellence in Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) matters.

YTY was recently awarded the Gold Class I award by the Malaysian Society for Occupational Safety & Health (MSOSH), the governing body for occupational safety and health standards and compliance within Malaysia, based on their assessment of the GP Lumut facility, which is part of Green Prospect Sdn. Bhd.

Based on the guidelines promulgated by MSOSH, the annual occupational safety and health performance awards are intended to recognize companies who have achieved commendable safety and health records, and who have demonstrated best in class occupational safety and health processes supported by sound safety and health management systems.

This was the first time YTY had participated, and we are therefore delighted to have won the prestigious Gold Class I award, the highest possible award attainable given our status as a first-time contributor.

The committee-based review process involved an intensive three-phase audit, and the receipt of this award places us alongside distinguished multinationals with best-in-class ESG frameworks, and past winners, such as Shell Malaysia, ExxonMobil Malaysia, Freescale Semiconductor, Motorola, Dell Computer, and Sony.

We were also recently recognized a second time for ESG excellence, this time at Medisafe Technologies, a wholly-owned subsidiary of YTY, where we were re-awarded WRAP Gold Class status, thereby upholding our status from last year’s initial audit.

WRAP, which stands for Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production, is an independent, not-for-profit, organization, and a gold-standard in social compliance monitoring and evaluation. Obtaining a WRAP certification demonstrates dedication to ethical and responsible business standards, obeyance of the laws of the country in which we operate, treatment of our employees with dignity and respect, and a conscious attention to the impact our operations have on the environment and the community.

YTY, through its Medisafe Technologies subsidiary, is the first, and as of this date, the only, single-use glove manufacturer in the world to have obtained a WRAP certification. Moreover, we are delighted to have been re-awarded the highly coveted Gold Class status for the second year in a row, the highest possible recognition attainable given our current status.

While we are humbled by each of these achievements, we recognize our journey continues. YTY will therefore continue to aspire to best-in-class Environment, Social and Governance standards, and aim to deliver on these elevated targets in a practical and progressive manner.
