YTY has introduced yet another world first: Chemicool™ (Fentanyl-Resistant), the world’s lowest-weight Fentanyl-resistant Nitrile Examination Glove. Offered at a 4.0g weight, Chemicool™ (Fentanyl-Resistant) is an incredibly cost-effective solution that meets the CDC guidelines for hand-protection against dangerous synthetic opioids. In addition, the low weight allows for increased dexterity for critical EMS tasks.
Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid pain reliever, and is typically used to treat severe pain. It is estimated to be 80 times more potent than Morphine, and 100 times more potent than Heroin. Excessive exposure, or even extended exposure to lower doses of Fentanyl, may be fatal.

The increased prevalence of Fentanyl in the illicit drug market has led to a greater risk of exposure for First Responders, DEA agents, and other law enforcement officers, as First Responders / EMS professionals often come into contact with users or overdose victims who are emitting, or have emitted, bodily secretions (saliva, vomit, or other bodily fluids) that contain trace amounts of Fentanyl. The same can be said for Police, and those working in Hospital Emergency Room environments.
Numerous agencies, including CDC, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), and the White House Interagency Workforce, have come out with guidelines in respect of the handling of Fentanyl. As part of the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) cited, CDC has set forth that Nitrile gloves worn should be resistant to Fentanyl, for a specified period of time.

Chemicool™ (Fentanyl-Resistant) is also chemo-compliant, meaning it can be used in environments where chemotherapy drugs are encountered. It is available immediately across all geographies, including the US. Should Distributors desire Examination glove weights that are Fentanyl-Resistant in a higher weight, these are also available upon request, with testing data to support.
