YTY Receives Multiple Awards from MSOSH for Workplace Safety; CEO Recognized with President’s Award
- Friday, November 14, 2025
YTY is pleased to announce it has received multiple awards this year for continued workplace safety and occupational excellence by the Malaysian Society for Occupational Safety and Health (MSOSH), the leading professional safety watchdog in Malaysia.
YTY was recognized on November 13 at the 43rd MSOSH Awards, held at the Putrajaya International Convention Center, where it earned a Gold Class 1 certification for both its Lekir and Acheh manufacturing facilities. In addition, the CEO of YTY Group, Vikram Hora, was personally recognized with the President’s Award, MSOSH’s highest civilian honor, for his exemplary leadership, unwavering commitment to elevating occupational health and safety standards, and for fostering a sustained and consistent culture of safety across the organization.
The ceremony was officiated by YB Datuk Seri Dr. Hj. Dzulkefly Ahmad, Malaysia’s Minister of Health, and attended by other government dignitaries such as YBhg. Tan Sri Shamsul Azri bin Abu Bakar, Chief Secretary to the Government of Malaysia, and YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Hj. Adnan Mat, President of the Congress of Unions of Employee in the Public and Civil Service (CUEPACS). President of MSOSH, YBhg. Datuk Wira Ahmad Fakhrul Anuar bin Ismail, delivered the welcome address, with this year’s theme centering around “Celebrating Achievements, Inspiring the Future.”
The MSOSH Awards remain Malaysia’s most rigorous benchmark for determining occupational safety excellence. Evaluations included comprehensive on-site audits conducted from May through August, covering hazard prevention, employee involvement, incident response, and continuous improvement systems. The audit results are evaluated by a large cross section of safety experts from agencies such as the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), the Standards and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM), the Social Security Organization (PERKESO), the Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF), and MSOSH itself.
Nearly 300 companies were evaluated this year from a variety of primary industries. The list of award recipients included leading Malaysian and international companies such as AmBank, Petronas, Sarawak Energy, and B. Braun. YTY’s strong performance amongst this accomplished peer group reflects its disciplined adherence to safety standards, robust risk-management processes, and deeply embedded culture of operational excellence. YTY was the only glove manufacturer selected to receive an award this year.
Vikram notes, “I am delighted to accept on behalf of our employees the multiple awards YTY has received at this year’s occupational safety and health ceremony. Given the scale and complexity of our manufacturing operations, this recognition reaffirms the strength of our health and safety frameworks and our consistent application of world-class safety practices across both of our primary Malaysian manufacturing sites to ensure employees remain safe and protected at all times.”
Vikram goes on to add “The MSOSH recognition gives us renewed inspiration to continue on our journey of excellence to raise the bar on occupational health and safety standards of performance across the organization. We look forward to deepening our culture of awareness, advancing our health and safety management systems, and propagating an environment of shared accountability to deliver even more impressive safety outcomes in time to come.”
