YTY Wins Company of the Year at Sustainability & CSR Malaysia Awards 2025

YTY is proud to announce that it has been named Company of the Year (Manufacturing) in the ESG Leadership category at the 10th edition of the

Sustainability and CSR Malaysia Awards 2025

, a prestigious platform that celebrates corporate excellence in sustainability and social responsibility.
This year’s awards carried the theme “Beyond Profits, Making Our World a Better Place,” reflecting the growing emphasis on purpose-driven business practices that uplift communities and protect the planet.
The event was officiated by the Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Malaysia, YB Datuk Seri Dr. Noraini Ahmad, and graced by the presence of Her Royal Highness Princess Tunku Mariam Zaharah binti Almarhum Al-Mutawakkil Alallah Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj, the younger sister of the present King of Malaysia.
Organized by CSR Malaysia Publications, the awards honors outstanding Malaysian corporations that have acted as change agents in advancing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) transformation nationwide.  The event is endorsed by Pertubuhan Amal Tanggungjawab Kemapanan Dan Korporat Malaysia, the national sustainability body, and supported by the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development.
This year, the awards received 185 submissions from corporations across Malaysia.  Following a thorough and competitive judging process, only 65 companies were selected as winners across the various award categories.
Winners were evaluated based on a set of 10 judging criteria, including alignment with and commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), clear purpose and objectives for sustainability efforts, impact and significance of the initiatives, frequency and consistency of CSR activities, total value of sustainability and CSR investments, and creativity in CSR programs execution.
The judging panel commended YTY’s diverse portfolio of sustainability and CSR initiatives, which thoughtfully balanced sustainability strategies incorporated in our manufacturing processes, with our environmental stewardship efforts, such as mangrove planting and turtle conservation projects, to social impact efforts, including educational support for underprivileged students, healthcare contributions, and infrastructure support for local communities.
With regard to our decarbonization efforts, YTY achieved a double-digit reduction in power consumption and a 5% reduction in gas consumption in 2024 through product and process optimization.  We also adopted energy-efficient technologies which drove a 21% reduction in energy usage in specific processes.  In line with our longer-term circularity roadmap, YTY is actively progressing towards the implementation of clean energy across its manufacturing footprint.  These actions reflect our firm commitment to reducing our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in order to build a more climate-resilient future.
We express our sincere gratitude to CSR Malaysia Publications, the judging panel, and the Ministry for this recognition.  This achievement reaffirms YTY’s deep-rooted and longstanding commitment to building a sustainable future through responsible manufacturing, community development, and principled governance.
YTY proudly receives the Company of the Year award from the event organizers.
YTY won in the ESG category due to the diversity of its sustainability and CSR initiatives.
