YTY Kicks Off IRGCE 2024 with a Focus on Innovation and Sustainability

YTY is pleased to participate in the International Rubber Glove Conference & Exhibition (IRGCE) 2024.  The exhibition, which is staged once every two years, is perennially hosted by the Malaysian Rubber Glove Manufacturer’s Association (MARGMA).  IRGCE is the industry’s leading trade show that brings together customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders involved in the rubber glove manufacturing ecosystem. Kicking off on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, and extending through Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, IRGCE 2024 is expected to be the largest such exhibition ever, with over 12,000 attendees expected.
Vikram Hora, CEO of YTY, notes, “We are delighted to participate in IRGCE 2024, as we have been doing for many years.  The convention brings together thought leaders within the industry in a consultative and connected manner.  YTY uses this platform to engage with friends, colleagues, and valued counterparties to discuss business opportunities and reflect on the state of the industry.  Given the number of exhibitors and anticipated visitors expected this year, it looks like this will be an exciting and energy-filled gathering.”
Vikram goes on to enthusiastically comment “IRGCE represents a terrific opportunity to showcase YTY’s latest polymer technologies, across both our Exam and Surgical portfolios.  Innovation is what we do best, and this year we are pleased to bring to market a number of novel technologies.  We are particularly excited about three patented polymer technologies that are now ready for commercial launch. These are Doffy®, PurAloe®, and Iron Grip™.  Each of these three technologies represents unprecedented innovation within our industry, and all of them have the potential for significant adoption by end users in the respective markets for which we have developed them for.  The Doffy®, in particular, is so revolutionary given its focus on reducing the risk of self-contamination, that it has the potential to fundamentally and permanently change hand hygiene behavioral patterns across multiple markets.”
Vikram further states, “Beyond innovation, we are also deeply focused on driving our sustainability agenda this year.  YTY has taken a number of material steps since 2017 to meaningfully reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) intensity.  As a reflection of our success, at year-end 2023, GHG emissions are down by 17% across our manufacturing platforms when measured against our baseline data.  Total solid waste generation has reduced by 30% during this same period.”
Vikram concludes by indicating, “Currently, 24% of the Group’s energy requirements are already generated through renewable sources, such as biomass feedstock.  To build on this achievement, we are installing an additional 18 megawatts (MW’s) of solar panels and co-generation units across our Malaysian facilities progressively through 2025.  This will significantly reduce our reliance on the electricity grid infrastructure.  We look forward to discussing our 2030 and 2050 net-zero targets with leading technology players in this field at IRGCE 2024 to ensure YTY can meet its ambitious sustainability goals in a progressive, responsible, and timely manner.”
