YTY anchors our CSR programmes across three main “Pillars of Goodness” to ensure the programmes we commit over the year provide a balanced benefit to employees, stakeholders, and community. The Pillars of Goodness are Individual Well-Being, Community Growth and Environmental Sustainability. Although 2022 has been a challenging year for the industry, YTY has never wavered from our commitment to invest in our corporate social responsibility programmes and lend support to those in need. Healthcare providers within the country are in desperate need of basic medical equipment, especially and including medical gloves, in order to limit the spread of infectious disease and to provide hygienic medical services to those most in need. Vikram Hora, Chief Executive Officer, YTY Group, notes, “We are profoundly saddened by the human and economic impact this conflict has had, not only on the people of Ukraine, but on the entire region at large. As winter arrives, temperatures drop, and vital infrastructure required to power November 5, 2022 YTY's latest humanitarian donation is for one million medical-grade Nitrile Examination gloves, in order to provide critical PPE to first responders and medical staff in Ukraine. We commend the people of Ukraine for their valor, bravery and courage, and stand by them as they defend their country against those that seek to threaten our shared values of freedom and democracy.” Denys Mykhailiuk, the Charge d'affaires at the Embassy of Ukraine in Malaysia commented, “On behalf of the Ukrainian people, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to YTY Group for this critical humanitarian support. We hope YTY’s contribution encourages other donors to step forward and help Ukraine as we fight for our freedom, our values, and our people.”In the spirit of Malaysia Day this year, YTY is focused on lending a helping hand to the most vulnerable populations within the local communities in which we operate. No one was overlooked on this special day, and we were happy to share our Malaysia Day celebrations with the children of Karunai Manjung and the elderly of Rumah Kasih. September 16, 2022 n celebration of Malaysia Day 2022, YTY is pleased to have donated RM 15,000 and provided employee volunteers to support infrastructure improvements for two charity homes in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur and Sitiawan, Perak, that cater to vulnerable and at-risk populations. The homes selected were the Rumah Kasih Charity Home for abandoned elderly folks and the Karunai Manjung Charity Home for abused or abandoned children. Each charity home received funds for repairs as well as improvements to ensure a more conducive and comfortable environment for its residents. Rumah Kasih Charity Home received multiple sets of bedsheets, towels, and blankets together with funding for roof repairs and door and mosquito net replacements, while Karunai Manjung Charity Home received study tables, new shelves, racks, an air-conditioning unit, wall fans and home fencing replacement. In line with YTY’s philosophy of employee engagement and participation in the company’s CSR events, a total of 15 YTY staff volunteered to help install and set-up the equipment, clean and organise the homes, and treat residents to a delicious meal. Ravi Ragunathan, Vice President, Human Resources, for YTY noted “In the spirit of Malaysia Day this year, YTY is focused on lending a helping hand to the most vulnerable populations within the local communities in which we operate. No one was overlooked on this special day, and we were happy to share our Malaysia Day celebrations with the children of Karunai Manjung and the elderly of Rumah Kasih. We hope that in our own small way, we have improved their lives with our corporate philanthropy and volunteer efforts.” Foong Peng Lam, Home Manager for Rumah Kasih Charity Home noted, “We are extremely grateful to YTY for investing in the comfort of our residents here. We constantly struggle to meet the nutrition and medical needs of our people and hence often do not have the funds to spend on home improvements. Thanks to YTY, our residents can finally have a comfortable night’s sleep. Our residents were also deeply moved by the fact that YTY volunteers spent time talking to them. Considering that almost all those here at the charity home have sadly been abandoned by their families, they cherish YTY employee volunteers visiting the Karunai Manjung Charity Home for abused and orphaned children during Malaysia Day 2022. We really appreciate the YTY volunteers for the compassion and empathy that was so aptly demonstrated today.” Ravi Isu, Home Manager for Karunai Manjung Charity Home noted, “Our children were so happy to receive a generous donation from YTY! Their smiles say it all. With such a small home for so many children, the donation of an air-conditioning unit and fan equipment were immensely beneficial. Equally important, the funds donated by YTY allowed us to construct secure home fencing to protect the privacy of our children. This is particularly important since we care for abused or abandoned children who generally have greater emotional vulnerabilities. A massive thank you to YTY for finding us, and helping us out.” Aliza Khalid, who leads YTY’s Corporate Social Responsibility programs noted, “We are pleased that our contributions and employee volunteer efforts had a beneficial impact within the communities in which we participate. At the same time, we hope our efforts have helped to shine a light on the plight of marginalized populations located in these areas. We encourage more corporations, stakeholders, and members of the public to support these homes and the valuable services they provide to vulnerable and at-risk segments of our society.”TY is pleased to be a corporate sponsor for Manjung Run & Ride 2022 (MRR2022), the largest community fitness event in the district of Manjung since the pandemic. Manjung Run & Ride 2022 is, as the name suggests, primarily a running and biking event intended to promote community participation and personal health in a post-pandemic world. The event was organized by Kelab Berbasikal Manjung (the Manjung Cycling Club) on Sunday, June 26. In addition to advocating the core themes of individual health and community participation, MRR2022 had the added benefit of stimulating the local economy given the strong attendance. Over 1,500 runners and bikers navigated various courses, consisting of a 40 km biking trail, a 10 km running trail, and a separate 5 km running track. The Royal Malaysian Police and Manjung Municipal Council each provided assistance in deconflicting the flow of traffic, while a local hospital had first aid stations and ambulance services on standby at various points along the routes to ensure the safety of those involved. The organizers were delighted to note that participants from biking and running clubs as far away as Johor Bahru and Kuala Lumpur attended the event. Many brought their families in tow, given the supplementary activities that were on offer for all ages. These included Zumba sessions, a classic bicycle competition, colouring contests, lucky draws and many small contests by local vendors at multiple booths that lined the event area. Vikram Hora, Chief Executive Officer, YTY Group, noted “We are happy to be a corporate sponsor for MRR2022. This is a wonderful initiative to bring the community together as Malaysia continues to open up in a post-pandemic setting, and fits squarely within our CSR “Pillars of Goodness” framework. I am delighted that many YTY employees participated in both the biking and running challenges, as this will provide them with health benefits, but also the opportunity to engage with the community at large.” Vikram went on to note “With over 4,500 local and interstate participants, including both those that were involved directly in the athletic activities, and those in the broader community that joined in to support and celebrate them, MRR22 has brought a tremendously important, and much needed, economic rejuvenation to the district of Manjung.” Encik Shahrul Nazmie, President of Kelab Berbasikal Manjung (Manjung Cycling Club), who organized MRR2022, commented “We at KBM would like to express our gratitude to June 27, 2022 YTY Group for being a corporate sponsor of this event. In doing so, they have helped us spread the joy of fitness, health, and community engagement. After two challenging years of lockdowns and movement control orders, MRR2022 was the perfect event to bring back smiles to the people of Manjung and allow our community to rally together in the name of wellness. We look forward to working with YTY again next year to organize an even bigger and better event.” Runners giving it their all at Manjung Run & Ride 2022.Bikers proudly reaching the finish line after a job well done. In total, the Company provided the equivalent of RM 75,000 of assistance, split between a monetary donation of RM 39,450, to the Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Sri Muda primary school located in Klang, and a donation in kind of a Honda Accord vehicle to The Salvation Army. The event was commemorated via a handover ceremony today. In attendance from YTY was Tuan Syed Ali AlJffri Syed Jan AlJffri, Managing Director, Grand Ten Holdings, a YTY Group company, Encik Arifin bin Awang, Headmaster of Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Sri Muda, and Major Francis Ng, Regional & Emergency Services Officer, The Salvation Army Malaysia. Tuan Syed Ali AlJffri noted “The recent floods in Klang Valley have been some of the worst the region has seen in the last 50 years. It has resulted in millions of Ringgit of loss in property and precious life. April 25, 2022 Sadly, many of those affected are in the bottom forty (B40) income category, which means that they were already struggling to make ends meet. Taman Sri Muda in particular, located in Shah Alam, Selangor, was one of the most severely affected areas.” Tuan Syed went on to note “In situations like this, it is imperative that children, particularly those in primary education, can continue to attend school to provide a sense of normalcy, and to ensure ongoing learning. The donation we are providing to the school will provide administrative support, but funds have also been earmarked specifically for students in the form of vouchers, so that they can purchase essential education items like uniforms, books, and stationary, irrespective of the financial hardships their families may be facing as a result of the flooding.” Tuan Syed further indicated “In addition, we are pleased to also provide a donation in kind to The Salvation Army. The Salvation Army has played a critical role in providing post-flood relief in the affected areas, and helping communities rebuild in the aftermath of these terrible floods. However, based on our recent engagement with them, we noticed many of their staff were taking public transport due to a lack of a dedicated vehicle. We hope that by providing them with a comfortable and well-running car, we will alleviate some of their transportation challenges, which in turn will allow them to provide assistance in a more timely manner.” Encik Arifin, Headmaster of Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Sri Muda, notes “We are deeply appreciative of YTY’s assistance. Given the limitations we currently face in respect of funding, the timely donation of RM 39,450 from YTY will help us meet our administrative budget gaps, and allow the school to function smoothly. Furthermore, YTY’s suggestion to have us provide all 270 students with individual vouchers will ensure that absenteeism, or worse, dropouts, will be limited because of a lack of access to funds.” Major Francis Ng, Regional & Emergency Services Officer, The Salvation Army Malaysia, commented “We would like to put on record our appreciation to YTY for their generous contribution. A core part of our mission relates to helping those in need, and in order to do so, we need to get to the affected areas in time. Many of our staff and volunteers are required to take public transport, which results in extended travel times. YTY’s donation has meant we can now be much more agile in our response, and for this we are extremely grateful.”The Salvation Army Malaysia receiving the Honda Accord vehicle donated in kind by YTY to aid in their social work.
